Lyrics
Alright!

How you seem to sleep through all in your life
It makes me, shakes me, lakes, trees, all is alright
It’s alright, It’s alright

Sunshine, moonshine, cheap wine, summer nights
Drunk bums, hoods, scums from the slums, all is alright
It’s alright, It’s alright

Hard time, jail, crime, beer slime, switchblade fights
They don’t scare me, alright?
It’s alright, It’s alright

So alright, let me go, it’s my life, I should know
Let me ask, who are you to tell me what to do?
It’s not your ass on the line, so let me do my crime

Alright! Alright?
They don’t scare me, tear me
It’s my life, alright?

Analysis: The beginning of the synth-dominated era. This cheesy, carnival-like song was an experiment into newer and zanier sounds and, obviously, lyrics were not a high priority.

Heart

Lyrics
Old is my heart which is trying to make a new start
You should know by now
I drown in your eyes, and soon I realize
What you should know by now

I’m trying to be smart
Trying not to listen to my heart
But this feeling just drags me down
I know it is not what I seek
But when I see you, inside I get weak
With this feeling while you are around

Save some love, your prince is on his way
Accept him when he arrives
‘Cause I understand every word that you say
I know your heart and mind

I’ve got a burning desire
And I just can’t quench the fire
This pretty young blonde-haired girl is all that I want

When you smile, I lose my head for a while
I wonder if you know that affect you have on me

I’ve got a burning desire
And I just can’t quench the fire
This pretty young blonde-haired girl is all that I need

So it is told, my heart no longer feels old
You should know by now
I wonder if you can see a future with you and me
I can see it now

Analysis: A simple love song, written on the ole’ harpsichord. The song has a nice, solid bass and drum beat while the vocals are just a tad off tune. Updated lyrics were written for this tune in 2003, but never recorded.

Lyrics
And when I see you next time
I’ll tell you the truth
It’s just the way I express my emotions, crying for you

Don’t pass me by girl, we’re headed down the same narrow road
Can’t you see it too?
Just another lazy Sunday and the birds are sigin’ sunshine
Trying to find themselves a fool

So when I see you next time, love me with your eyes
And your hold and your touch just feels so fine
Don’t worry, we’ll have our time

And when I see you next time
I’ll tell you the truth
It’s just the way I express my emotions, crying for you

Analysis: Almost a country-waltz, this simple acoustic diddy is all verse and no variation. The vocals are a bit weak and there are some tuning issues

Fire On the Mountain

Lyrics
I walked along the mountain side
And noticed thick, black smoke that filled the air, but noone cared
I raced towards the valley with my arms up screaming loudly
But it appeared noone could hear

I looked upon the bridge and saw the children
Standing lonely and lost and crying, their fear of dying
Their stranded in this old ghost town
Their parents are all underground and save from this fate

The problem with most people is
They think that if don’t know it’s alright to lose the fight
They strive to get security
But safety doesn’t matter in place of green, know what I mean?

Fire on the mountain spreading quickly towards the valley
It is a shame, it can’t be tamed
The rain can’t stop its rapid growth
The wind provides no antidote
It came, but who’s to blame

I fell into a fitful sleep and had a dream
That all had turned out right, at least for tonight
If wishful thinking is all I’ve got
I’ll cherish it right down to the last drop, until it stops

Fire on the mountain spreading quickly towards the valley
It is a shame, it can’t be tamed
The rain provides no antidote
The wind can’t stop its rapid growth
It came, but who’s to blame

Analysis: A song built from a sales pitch, this was originally written as part of a trilogy. The Lyric is poetic and sound is adequate, but the melody never quite matured.

Analysis: A truly “lost” piece, which was discovered in 2003 along with its counterpart, now called Green Dog. I honestly don’t know when this was written or recorded, I can only estimate the era. The title and date were chosen because it was the birth of my first son, who happlens to now run a website BigBlueBullfrog.com.
